Hi….I’m Jessika!
For the past 20 years I have worked in various management capacities in both the Corporate and the Non Profit sectors, have founded and operated two of my own businesses, have gone back to further my education as a ‘Mature Student’, have co-created and run two federally funded community programs and in 2016, earned my Life Coaching Certification from Integrative Wellness Academy.
Currently, I am the Founder and Lead Life Coach for my practise- Glitter N’ Grace Life Coaching, am the Program Coordinator and Life Coach for a storytelling and life coaching program for seniors called ‘Surrey SHARES’, am a contracted Facilitator for Bungalow968 where I facilitate life skills to various Indigenous Bands around the Lower Mainland, sit on a Community Mental Health Committee as an Advocate and Presenter, recently created two new online communities and became a two time Published Author by writing a story in 2020 for ‘The Mom Babes- A motherhood anthology’ and by writing a story and publishing an Anthology of seniors’ stories in ‘Surrey SHARES Stories’ in 2023.
Outside of my professional life I have also endured my fair share of trauma, abuse, mental illness and physical health challenges so I understand what kind of impact these areas have on our lives. Throughout my own healing process I recognized that without the things that had ‘happened to me’, I really didn’t know who I was, or who I wanted to become.
It took me a lot of deep diving, exploration, time alone, therapy and profound work on myself to develop the idea of who I wanted to become and what I wanted out of life.
Having a unique identity allowed me to figure out what my Core Values were, what type of lifestyle I wanted to have, the type of people I wanted in my life, what kind of work would feel best for me taking into consideration my health restrictions and also helped me determine my hobbies and things I enjoy.
What has happened since then is remarkable!! As soon as I knew who I was and what I wanted, I started creating actionable goals and wouldn’t you know it… my life started to shift.
I left my corporate job that was killing me with a 3 hour commute each day
I left my crappy marriage that was toxic and unhealthy
I took a public speaking training program to increase my confidence on stage or in front of a camera
I sold my 4 bedroom house that we were grossly underusing and downsized three times until my custom designed tiny home was built
I decided that traveling was a priority for me and have done several trips since then with at least one ‘big’ one each year
I quit working for other people and opened up my own business so that I have flexibility in my schedule and projects
I created a online community for ‘Middle Aged Misfits’ so people who don’t fit in elsewhere feel they have somewhere to go
I advocated for both my mental and physical health and finally have some answers and solutions which was a 10 year feat on it’s own!
I moved out of the city and onto a farm and spend much more time outside and less time in front of a screen. I didn’t know how much that was impacting me until I did it and now I can’t go back.
